CE 2b,c- The Constitution and Amendments

TermDefinition
Constitution A document establishing the structure, functions, and limits of a government.
Bill of Rights First 10 amendments to the Constitution
Preamble the introduction to a formal document that often tells why the document was written
Amendment A change to a document- an update to the Constitution
Proposal A plan or suggestion for others to consider or discuss- something that could be enacted into law- how an Amendment is introduced.
Ratification Approval of an amendment, usually by a vote
