Serratus Anterior Jagged, saw-like muscle that pulls the scapula forward; named "boxer's muscle" as this action is important for throwing a punch
Rectus Sheath Sheet of connective tissue that cover the rectus abdominis
Linea Alba Line of connective tissue that runs down the midline of the abdomen, dividing the rectus abdominis muscle
Rectus Abdominis "Six pack"; long flat muscle on the abdomen responsible for flexing the lumbar spine and compressing the abdomen
External Abdominal Oblique Outer oblique that flexes the vertebral column, rotates the vertebral column laterally, and compresses abdomen
Internal Abdominal Oblique Inner oblique that flexes the vertebral column, rotates the vertebral column laterally, and compresses abdomen
Transversus Abdominus The innermost of the flat muscles of the abdomen and a very important part of the core
Pectoralis Major "Pecs"; the largest and most superficial muscle of the chest; flexes, extends, and adducts the shoulder
Pectoralis Minor Chest muscle underneath the pectoralis major that stabilizes the scapula and raises ribs during inhalation
Latissimus Dorsi Large flat muscle that extends, adducts, horizontally abducts, internally rotates, and flexes the shoulder joint.
Trapezius Large trapezoidal muscle that moves the scapula and supports the arm
Rhomboid Minor Works with the rhomboid major to press the scapula against the back and to retract the scapula to the spine
Rhomboid Major Works with the rhomboid minor to press the scapula against the back and to retract the scapula to the spine
Quadratus Lumborum The deepest abdominal muscle, originating from the wings of the ilium and is located below the kidneys
Diaphragm Muscle dividing the thoracic and abdominal cavities that aids in breathing
