| bi- | two Ex: biosocial = interplay between biologic and social influences |
| di- | two Ex: diglossia = condition that results in the tongue splitting in two |
| tri- | three Ex: trichromat = person who sees three primary colors |
| quadri- | four Ex: quadriplegia = paralysis of all four limbs |
| hemi- | half Ex; hemifacial = pertaining to one side of the face |
| semi- | half Ex: semispinal = muscles attached in part (half) to the spinal vertebrae |
