Human Anatomy

TermDefinition
Grow anatomy Used to describe the study of body parts visible to the naked eye.
Microscopic anatomy The study of cells
Macromolecules Often combine with other atoms and molecules to form larger and more complex chemicals.
Nucleus Some of which exist in a "cloud" surrounding a dense cenral core
Octet rule Atoms with fewer than eight electrons in the outer energy level will attempt to lose, gain, or share electrons with other atoms to achieve stability.
Isotopes An element contain the same number of protons but different numbers of neutrons.
Covalent bond A chemical bond formed by the sharing of one or more pairs of electrons between the outer energy levels of two atoms.
Histogenesis A set of processes that are together
Basement membrane A thin, gluelike connection between a sheet of epithelial cells and the underlying fibrous connective tissue.
Regeneration This growth of functional new tissue
