line | projection for tendon/ligament attachment- low ridge |
process | projection for tendon/ligament attachment- any marked bony prominence |
ramus (rami) | projection for tendon/ligament attachment- angular extension of a bone elative to rest of the structure |
spine | projection for tendon/ligament attachment- pointed, slender process |
trochanter | projection for tendon/ligament attachment- massive, rough projection found only in femur |
tubercle | projection for tendon/ligament attachment- small round projection |
tuberosity | projection for tendon/ligament attachment- large, rough projection |
canal | openings and spaces- passageway through bone |
fissue | openings and spaces- narrow, slit-like opening through a bone |
foramen (foramina) | openings and spaces- rounded passageway through a bone |
meatus | openings and spaces- passageways through a bone |
sinus | openings and spaces- cavity or hollow space in a bone |
