Hydrolysis Breaking down compounds by adding a water molecule.
Metabolism All of the chemical reactions in the body cells.
Covalent Bond Chemical bond by the sharing of one or more pairs of electrons between two atoms.

Ionic bonds Chemical bond by transferring of electrons from the atom to another atom.
Electrolytes Acids, bases, and salts belong to a large group of compounds.
Collagenous fibers Present in all three types of cartilage. Most numerous in fibrocartilage.
Fontanels Only in the fetal skull. Additional space for head shape as the baby passes through the birth canal.
Diaphysis The main shaft- like portion of a long bone.
Sternum The medial part of anterior chest wall.
Cartilage found in the symphysis pubis Fibrocartilage.
Cartilage found in the external ear Elastic cartilage
Two main layers that composed the skin dermis & Epidermis.
The most abundant and widespread tissue Connective tissue.
