Mitosis Lesson 1

Cyto Hollow vessel
Kinesis Division
Cytokinesis Division of the parent cell's cytoplasm. Cell membrane pinches inward between the two nuclei to form two cells.
DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid) The genetic material in cells
Chromosomes (eukaryotic cells) One of the structures in the nucleus that are made up of DNA and protein
Chromosomes (prokaryotic cells) The main ring of DNA
Eukaryotic Cell cycle The life cycle of the cell. Interphase, mitosis, and cytokinesis.
Interphase Period of the cell cycle during which activities such as cell growth and protein synthesis occur without signs of cell division.
Mitosis process of cell division that forms two new nuclei, each of which has the same number of chromosomes.
