Chapter 10 tissue and brain

central nervouse system (cns)= includes the brain and spinal cord
Peripheral nervous system (pns)= everything outside cns except brain & spinal ganglia
Sensory function = carries info to CNS
Intragrative function = processes sensory info. carried to CNS
Neuroglia = most abundent of nerve cellsthey Support, protect,nourish the neuron
Phagocytosis = cell eating
Astrocytes = support the neuronsform & maintain the blood-brain barrier
