Local infection An infection limited to a small area of the body
OBRA Law that requires training for nursing assistance including competency testing of skill performance
OSHA Federal agency that establishes and enforces standards of safety for the work place
Pathogen Disease causing microorganisms
Standard precautions CDC guidelines for infection that are applied to all body fluids of the patients all of the time
Sterile Free from living microorganisms
Systemic infection An infection located throughout the body
Vector Organism that carries or transports a pathogen
