The Lymphatic System

| lymphatic vessels | absorb excess interstitial fluid and transport thus fluid (now known as lymph )to ducts that drain into veins |
| lymphatic capillaries | smallest vessels of the lymphatic system. they are closed-ended tubes that forms vast networks in the interellular spaces within most organ |
| lymph ducts | similar to structure of vein walls ( they have the same 3 layers and have valves to prevent back flow ) |
