| Astrocytes | The glia cells that help form the blood-brain barrier. |
| Plexuses | The ventral rami of most spinal nerves subdivide to form complex networks. |
| Ventricles | The large fluid-filled spaces within the brain. |
| Facial | The nerve carrying taste information from the anterior two-thirds of the tongue. |
| The Thyroid Gland | The endocrine gland that stores enough of its hormone extracellularly to last several months. |
| Perfusion Pressure | The localized pressure gradient needed to maintain blood flow in a tissue. |
| Endothelium | The type of membranous tissue that lines the heart and blood vessels. |
| Lymph Nodes | Bean-shaped structures located at certain intervals along the lymphatic system. |
| Natural Killer Cells | Lymphocytes that kill many types of tumor cells and cells infected by different kinds of viruses. |
| Pneumonia | Inflammation of the lower respiratory tract that involves the airways of the lungs. |
| Conchae | The structures that deflect air as it passes through the nose. |
