ANATOMY! YEAH!!!

This is for my Anatomy course.

WordDefinition
ANATOMY The study of the structure and relationships between body parts.
PHYSIOLOGY The science of how body parts come together to function and keep your body alive.
HOMEOSTASIS Maintain stable, internal conditions no matter what changes are occurring outside the body.
ANATOMICAL POSITION The body is facing forward, with arms at the sides and palms forward.
SAGITTAL PLANE OR MEDIAN PLANE Comes down vertically and divides a body or organ in left and right parts.
PARASAGITTAL PLANE Parallel to the sagittal plane but off to one side.
CORONAL PLANE Splits everything vertically into front and back.
TRANSVERSE PLANE Divides top and bottom.
ATIAL PARTS Head, neck, and body.
APPENDICULAR PARTS Arms and legs.
ANTERIOR Front of the body.
POSTERIOR OR DORSAL Back of the body.
SUPERIOR OR CRANIAL Towards the top.
INFERIOR OR CAUDIAL Towards the bottom.
MEDIAL STRUCTURES Towards the mid-line.
LATERAL STRUCTURES Farther away from mid-line.
