| ANATOMY | The study of the structure and relationships between body parts. |
| PHYSIOLOGY | The science of how body parts come together to function and keep your body alive. |
| HOMEOSTASIS | Maintain stable, internal conditions no matter what changes are occurring outside the body. |
| ANATOMICAL POSITION | The body is facing forward, with arms at the sides and palms forward. |
| SAGITTAL PLANE OR MEDIAN PLANE | Comes down vertically and divides a body or organ in left and right parts. |
| PARASAGITTAL PLANE | Parallel to the sagittal plane but off to one side. |
| CORONAL PLANE | Splits everything vertically into front and back. |
| TRANSVERSE PLANE | Divides top and bottom. |
| ATIAL PARTS | Head, neck, and body. |
| APPENDICULAR PARTS | Arms and legs. |
| ANTERIOR | Front of the body. |
| POSTERIOR OR DORSAL | Back of the body. |
| SUPERIOR OR CRANIAL | Towards the top. |
| INFERIOR OR CAUDIAL | Towards the bottom. |
| MEDIAL STRUCTURES | Towards the mid-line. |
| LATERAL STRUCTURES | Farther away from mid-line. |
