What is the purpose of the Public safety, force protection program offices ? Provide management, coordination, and leadership to ensure that each mission is met with an appropriate capability.
What offices provide assistance to Force Protection? Personnel management, Anti terrorism, Counter Intelligence, Electronic Security, Investigation, Law Enforcement, and Physical Security.
What does the THREATCON scale determine ? Determines the condition for defense of the United States Homeland and assets abroad.
What does the DEFCON scale determine? Determines the posture of the military to prepare for the likelihood of war.
Who can set FPCONS ? Commanders at any level.
What is the purpose of FPCONS? Series of measures designed to increase a units level of defense against terrorist attacks.
What does FPCON stand for? Force protection conditions.
What is FPCON Normal? Applies when a general global threat of possible terrorist activity exists and warrants a routine security posture.
What is FPCON Alpha? Applies when there is an increased general threat of possible terrorist activity against personnel and facilities.
What is FPCON Bravo? Applies when an increased or more predictable threat of terrorist activity exists.
What is FPCON Charlie? Applies when an incident occurs or intelligence is received indicating some form of terrorist action or targeting against personnel or facilities is likely.
What is FPCON Delta? Applies in the immediate are where a terrorist attack has occurred or when intelligence is received that a terrorist action a specific location or personnel is imminent.
What does DEFCON stand for? Defense readiness condition.
How many levels of readiness are in DEFCON? 5 Levels of readiness.
Which DEFCON is the least severe? DEFCON 5
Which DEFCON is the most severe? DEFCON 1
What is DEFCON 5? Normal peacetime readiness.
What is DEFCON 4? Normal, increased intelligence and strengthened security measures.
What is DEFCON 3? Increased in force readiness above normal readiness.
What is DEFCON 2? Further increase in force readiness, but less than maximum.
What is DEFCON 1? Maximum force readiness.
