Agricultural Adjustment Act (AAA) New Deal program that paid farmers a stipend to grow a limited number of crops in order to increase the price of agricultural products
County Unit System a political policy that gave each county a certain number of votes based on 3 categories (rural, town, or urban)
Social Security Act (SSA) New Deal program that provided retirement & unemployment insurance for American taxpayers
Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) New Deal program that hired unemployed young men to work on public works projects
New Deal name given to a series of federal programs created by President Roosevelt in order to help the nation recover from the Great Depression
Rural Electrification Act (REA) New Deal program designed to build the capabilities to bring electricity to rural areas
overproduction a situation in which production of goods exceeds the demand for them causing a decline in the price of the goods
reduction in purchasing economic fears caused consumers to stop buying products which resulted in less jobs
bank failures when banks ran out of reserves to pay customers who wanted to withdraw their money
