What is Anatomy the study of? The study of structure of living organisms
What are the characteristics of human life? Growth, Reproduction, Responsiveness
What is a Chemical Bond? A force holding two atoms together
Which type of chemical reaction results in the breakdown of a complex substance into two or more simpler substances? Decomposition Reaction
What are Covalent Bonds? Bonds formed by the sharing of electrons
What type of cell extension that lines the intestines and other areas of the body? Microvilli
What are the three microscopic glands in the skin? Sweat, Sebaceous, and Ceruminous
The Matrix Cells in tissue that are surrounded by or embedded in a complex extracellular material
Fibrocartilage The strongest and most durable type of cartilage
What fibers are present in all 3 types of cartilage ? Collagenous
Which two bones compose the shoulder girdle? Clavicle and Scapula
What vertebral bones support the small (lower section) of the back? Lumbar Vertebrae
What is Spongy bone? Open spaces partially filled by an assemblage of needle-like structures.
The four tissue types are... epithelial, connective, muscle, and nervous.
