Circulatory Patho

Memorize the circulatory system pathology terms.

Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) Atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries that reduce blood supply to the heart muscle.
Atherosclerosis Hardening and narrowing of the arteries caused by a buildup of cholesterol plaque on the interior walls of the arteries.
Ischemia Insufficient supply of oxygen ot the tissue due to restricted blood flow to a part of body.
Angina Severe episodes of chest pain due to inadequate blood flow to the myocardium.
Myocardial Infarction Total blockage of one or more coronary arteries due to plaque buildup.
Congestive Heart Failure Chronic condition where the heart is unable to pump out all of the blood it receives. Most common in the elderly.
Carditis
Congenital Heart Defects Structural abnormalities caused by the heart failing to develop properly before birth.
