Burns

Information to know about Burns

TermDefinition
BSA Body surface area (estimated by the rule of nines or Lund and Browder method)
Superficial (first degree burn) involves the epidermis only.
Superficial partial thickness (sunburn) involves the epidermis and a portion of the dermis.
Deep partial thickness (second degree burn) involves the epidermis and the dermis.
Full thickness (third degree burn) involves full skin
