Medical Terminology Chapter 2 Body Cavities

Abdominal Cavity space containing liver, gallbladder, and stomach
Cranial Cavity space in the skull, containing the brain
Diaphragm muscle between the thoracic and abdominal cavities
Mediastinum space between the lungs, containing the heart
Pelvic Cavitiy space below the abdominal cavity, containing the urinary bladder
Pelvis bones of the hips
Peritoneum membrane surrounding the organs in the abdomen
Pleura membrane surrounding the lungs
Spinal Cavity space within the backbones, containing the spinal cord
Thoracic Cavity entire chest cavity, containing the lungs, heart, trachea, esophagus, and bronchial tubes
