What was the tax on whiskey that caused Pennsylvania whiskey makers to rebel against tax? The Whiskey Rebellion
What did it show when the national government proved that they could enforce their laws unlike how they did in the Shay's Rebellion? The government was now strong enough to enforce laws proving constitution is a strong enough government to run the country.
What happened when Washington was leaving the office? He had the "Washington's Farewell Address"
What was said in the Farewell Address? He said the country should NOT have political parties because it could split the country and The country should have more foreign alliances and stay out of wars to avoid debt.
Who were the supporters of the Democratic Republican party? Supporters were Farmers, Frontier settlers who favored state governments and those who favored France.
Who were the supporters of the Federalist party? Supporters were the rich,educated and wellborn and they favored strong national government and Great Britain or England.
What was the Alien act? This was a law that allowed John Adams deport or make immigrants he thought were dangerous leave the country.
What was the Sedition Acts? This was a law that allowed John Adams arrest or fine citizens if they said any criticism or hate toward the Federal Government or president.
What were the Alien and Sedition Acts? Laws aimed to stop the Democratic Republicans and any sympathizers for the French Cause.
Who were the Alien and Sedition Acts aimed at? It was aimed at those who were against the Federalist positions.
What was the Virginia and Kentucky Resolutions? It was a resolution between Madison and Jefferson and they said that states created the governments so states have right to say whether they want to cancel or nullify a federal law.
Why isn't The resolutions working? Only two states are doing it so it wasn't ineffective at stopping the Alien and Sedition acts.
What happened when Jefferson won the election? He destroyed laws through regular means.
What did amendment 12 do? It put the Presidents and Vice President on separate ballots because Jefferson and Burr had the same amount of votes.
What did it do? It made it to the point where The Vice President candidate was voted on separately from the President.
