TermDefinition
Asexual Reproduction Offspring's are created form a single organism and are exact copies of the parent.
Binary Fission Divide into 2 identical cells.
Budding An offspring grows out of the parents body, not an equal dividing like binary fission.
Fragmentation/Regeneration Offspring form out of broken off pieces of the parent.
Sexual Reproduction The genetic information from 2 parents is combined to create offspring with unique genetic traits.
Internal Fertilization Fertilization (egg+sperm) occurs withing the female.
External Fertilization fertilization occurs outside the female in a watery place.
Angiosperm Flowering plant.
Anther Produces pollen.
Filament Stalk holds anther up.
Stamen Filament and stalk (male part).
Style Stalk that supports.
Ovary Where fertilization occurs (pollen + egg = seed) seeds are formed and turn into fruit.
Pistil Female part.
Pollination The transfer of pollen to a stigma, ovary, flower, or plant to allow fertilization.
