QuestionAnswer
What is a concussion? A brain injury caused by a blow to the head or a violent shaking of the head and body.
What is a Contusion? A bruise caused when blood vessels are damaged are damaged in the skin.
What is a laceration? A deep cut or tear in the skin or flesh.
What is an avulsion? The act of pulling or tearing away.
What is a abrasion? A damaged area due to scraping or tearing away.
What is sunburn? A type of skin burn due to too much sunlight exposure.
What is first aid? Help given to a sick or injured person until medical treatment is available.
What is C.P.R? Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is temporary care involving chest compressions to someone who is in cardiac arrest until medical help arrives.
What is bursitis? Inflammation of the fluid filled pads that act as a cushion at the joints.
What is a transverse fracture? When the fracture line is perpendicular to the shaft of the bone.
What is tendonitis? A condition which the tissue connecting muscle to bone becomes inflamed.
What is R.I.C.E? Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation is the early treatment of bone injury or acute soft tissue injuries such as sprain or strain.
What is a muscle cramp? A sudden involuntary contraction of one or more muscles.
What is hypothermia? The condition of having an abnormally low body temperature, typically one that is dangerously low.
What is frostbite? A condition in which skin and the tissue just below the skin freezes.
