sternocleidomastoid both muscles acting together flex neck. individually the muscles draw the head to that shoulder
splenius capitis both muscles together extend neck. individual each muscle laterally flexes and rotates head
semispinalis capitis both muscle together extend together. individually each muscle rotates the head
longissimus capitis both muscles together extend head. individually muscle will turn face to the same side
trapezius elevates and retracts scapula and depresses its medial aspect. extends and laterally flexes head and neck
