| Demographics | Characteristics of a population |
| Political Predispositions | Characteristics that predict voting patterns, race, religion, gender, and class |
| Cross Cutting Cleavages | Voting characteristics that overlap political ideologies |
| Reinforcing Cleavages | Stereotypical voting characteristics |
| Manifest Destiny | The God given right that Americans believed they were entitled to, that kept them constantly moving west until they conquered North America |
| Race | A grouping of human beings with distinctive physical characteristics determined by genetic inheritance |
| Ethnicity | Social Division based on National Origin, Religion, and Language, often within the same race that includes a sense of attachment |
| Gender Gap | Persistent difference between Man and Women in voting and attitudes |
| GDP (Gross Domestic Product) | Total output of all economic activity in the Nation, including goods and services |
