standard paper size 8 1/2 inches X 11 inches
lines on standard paper 66 lines per page
orientation the direction in which you can print on a page
portrait orientation in which height is greater than width
landscape orientation in which width is greater than height
margin the blank space at the top, bottom, left, and right of a document were you can't type
Header allows you to type above the top margin at the top of each page
footer allows you to type below the bottom of each page of a document
layout tab/ribbon that the tools for changing the margins, orientation, and size are found
insert tab/ribbon that the tools for inserting a header or footer
