osteons hard shell of the bone
pectoral girdle shoulder girdle; the scapula and clavicle
pelvic girdle connects the legs to the trunk
periosteum tough, connective tissue covering the bone
red bone marrow soft, connective, tissue inside the hard walls of some bones
sinus a space or cavity inside some of the cranial bones
synarthrosis a joint in wich fiborous connective tissue joins bones and holds them together tightly; commonly called sutures
synovial membrane connective tissue membrane linning the spaces between bones and joints that secretes synovial fluid

yellow bone marrow an inaotive, fatty form of marrow found in adult skeletons
