DNA a large organic molecule that carries genetic information in the chromosomes and resembles a twisted ladder
chromosomes one of the rod-shaped or threadlike structures of a cell nucleus that contain genes and divide when the cell divides
dominant trait the trait observed in the first generation when parents that have different traits are bred
recessive trait a trait that is only apparent when two recessive alleles for the same characteristic is inherited
