Continental Congress A meeting of the representatives of the 13 colonies.
Lexington The first shots of the war were fired here.
Continental Army The American Army.
General Cornwallis British General who surrendered at Yorktown.
The Boston Massacre the British army shot dead five men who were protesting against the Townshend Acts.
The Townshend Acts series of taxes on everyday items.
Boston Tea Party Americans dumped valuable cargo of tea into Boston harbour.
