INTRO

QuestionAnswer
Supine Anatomical position in which the bpdy is lying down FACE UP.
Prone Anatomical position in which the body is lying down FACE DOWN.
ANTERIOR Term of Direction:Toward the FRONT
POSTERIOR Term of Direction:Toward the BACK
SUPERIOR Term of Direction:UPPER, Toward the head
INFERIOR Term of Direction:LOWER, Toward the feet
MEDIAL Term of Direction:Toward the MIDLINE.
LATERAL Term of Direction:AWAY from the MIDLINE.
SUPERFICIAL OR EXTERNAL Term of Direction:TOWARD the Surface
DEEP OR INTERNAL Term of Direction:AWAY from the surface
PROXIMAL OR CENTRAL Term of Direction:TOWARD the BODY or center (ex. towards the limb)
DISTAL OR PERIPHERAL Term of Direction:AWAY from the body or center (ex. away from limb)
