Directional Terms
Vocabulary
| Term | Definition |

| Anatomical Position | Body erect, feet slightly apart, palms facing forward, & thumbs. |
| Directional Terms | Used to describe the anatomical position of a body part in relation to another. |
| Superior | Used to refer to what is above. |
| In ferior | To what is below. |
| Anterior or Ventral | Towards the front |
| Dorsal or Posterior | Towards The Back |
| Medial | Toward the midline of the body |
| Lateral | Away from the midline of the body |
| Trunk | Where your head & limbs attach. |
| Proximal | Closer to the attachment of a limb to the body trunk |
| Distal | Father from the attachment of a limb to the body trunk |
