Brain parts
Thalamus | The brain part that controls pain and temperature |
Hypothalamus | The part of the brain that controls your appetite, sleep and blood vessels |
Pons | It controls certain reflexes like, chewing, tasting, saliva production |
Ventricles | Part of the brain that contains clear, colorless fluid |
Cerebellum | This brain part is responsible for muscle coordination, balance and posture |
Spinal cord | This part carries messages from the brain to the nerves that go to the muscle and glands |
Cerebrum | The largest part of the brain, with 4 lobes |
Cerebrospinal fluid | This is a shock absorber, carries nutrients , and removes waste |
Myelin sheath | Fat covering on the neuron, and increases rate of impulses |
Dendrite | Nerve fibers that carry message to cell body |
Neuron | The basic structural unit of the nervous system |
