Tissue Description

Simple squamous epithelium Single layer of flat, then sells that substances to pass through easily. Very delicate
Simple Cuboidal epithelium Cube shaped cells usually centrally located spherical nuclei
Simple columnar epithelium Composed of a single layer of a long gated cells, usually at about the same level near the basement level
Stratified squamous epithelium Many layers relatively thick, flat on surface, more cuboidal the deeper they are
Stratified columnar epithelium Top layer of elongated cells, lower layers of cube shaped cells
Pseudostratified columnar epithelium Single layer, elongated cells, Movement of mucus and cells
Transitional epithelium Many layers of cube shaped Andi long gated cells, Specialized to change shape in response to tension
Skeletal muscle tissue Long, threadlike cells, striated, many nuclei
Smooth muscle tissue Shorter cells, single, central nucleus
Cardiac muscle tissue Branch the cells, striated, single nucleus
Nervous tissue Cell with the cytoplasmic extensions
Connective tissue Mostly have good blood supply, cells are farther apart and cells of epithelia, with matrix in between
Epithelial tissue Lack of blood vessels, cells readily divide, cells are tightly packed
Muscle tissue Contractile
