What is a crest? The point where the wave is highest

What is amplitude? Measurement of energy being carried by a wave
What is Wavelength? Measurement of distance from any point on a wave to the next identical point.
What is frequency? Measurement of the number of waves that pass a point in a given time
What is Hertz(HZ)? Measurement of frequency
What is wave speed? Measurement of what speed waves travel
What is a wave? a disturbance that transfers energy
What is a medium? A solid, liquid, or gas- through which a wave can travel
What are mechanical waves? Waves that require a medium
What are electromagnetic waves? Vibrations of electric and magnetic waves
What are Longitudinal waves? Waves where particles move back and forth in the direction of the wave
What are transverse waves? Waves where particles travel perpendicularly in the direction of the wave.
What is compression? Pushing against an object(slinky, jello, etc)
What is rarefaction? Spreading apart an object(slinky,jello,etc)
What is force? a push or pull exerted on an object to change its motion
What is work? the transfer of energy to an object using force
What is force measured in? Newtons (N)
What is work measured in? Joules(J)
What is power? The energy required to do work.
