Inflammation/Inflammatory Response and Fever

What is the general definition of inflammation? The reaction of vascular tissue to cellular injury or death
Define acute inflammation An adaptive response that is triggered by noxious (harmful) stimuli (like infection or injury) and is relatively short-lived, lasting a few minutes to several days depending on grade of injury
An acute inflammatory response is characterized by... ...the release of fluid and plasma proteins and the emigration of leukocytes, mostly neutrophils
Define chronic inflammation an inflammatory response that is longer in duration, lasting from days to years and is associated with the rapid production of blood vessels, tissue death and scarring (fibrosis)
