Cent Nerv Sys Act

Central Nervous System Activity

The Central Nervous system is made up of The brain and the spinal cord
The Peripheral Nervous System works like a two-way street: in both directions
All thoughts, actions and emotions have three common functions Sensory input, Integration, and Motor output
An example of Somatic/voluntary function is Kicking a football
What have the following common traits: they live a long time, they have huge appetites, and they do not replace themselves. Neurons
The axon is also known as The talker
What pick up messages and transmit impulses from sensory receptors toward the CNS. Sensory/afferent neurons
The response that happens when the nervous system activates certain parts of the body is called Motor output
The nervous system is made up of The Central Nervous System and the Peripheral Nervous System
Interneurons are the most abundant of the body’s neurons, and are mostly Multipolar
