Reproductive System and abbreviations

testis or testicle primary male sex organs paired oval shaped and enclosed in a sac called the scrotum
sperm microscopic male germ cell which when united with the ovum produces a zygote (egg)

seminiferous tubules 900 coiled tubs within the testes which spermatogenesis occurs
epididymis colied tube atop each of the testes
vas deferences duct carring the sperm from the epididymis to the urethra
seminal vesicles two main glands located to the base of the bladder that open into vas deferens
prostate gland encircles a proximal section of the urethra
scrotum sac containing the testes and epididymis
penis male organ of urination and coitus (sexual intercourse)
glans penis enlarged tip on the end of penis
prepuce fold of skin covering the glans penis in uncircumcised males (foreskin of penis)
