1. Cranial It contains the brain, and pituitary gland
2. Thoracic It contains the lungs, heart, esophagus, trachea, bronchial tubes, thymus gland, aorta
A. Pleural cavity The space surrounding the each lung.
B. Mediastinum Centrally located space outside of and between the lungs. It contains the heart, aorta, trachea, esophagus, thymus gland, bronchial tubes, and many lymph nodes.
3. Abdominal Peritoneum, kidneys, stomach, small intestines, large intestines, spleen, pancreas, liver, gallbladder, diaphragm
4. Pelvic Portions of the small and large intestines, rectum, urinary bladder, ureters, in females the uterus and vagina
5. Spinal The nerves of the spinal cord.
