What are the areas of the rehabilitation department? (1) physiotherapy - movement, balance, strength (2) occupational - how to complete daily living activities (3) recreational - sports, games, animals (4) speech - for speech impediments
What is some common equipment used in a rehabilitation department? crutches, wheelchairs, walkers, portable patient lifts, TED stockings, SCD (sequential compression device)
How does an HUC transcribe an activity order? (1) recognize there is an order (2) transcribe and update kardex (3) order equipment (4) check each step for accuracy (5) sign off on the completed orders (6) flag health record for nurses
What is an activity order? (1) each client will have one (2) written by the doctor (3) individualized to each patient
What are some common devices that physiotherapists use when treating a client? lifts, weights, cold, heat, light, hand bikes
