semitendinosus origin: ischial tuberosity
semitendinosus insertion: proximal medial surface of tibia
semitendinosus action: flexion at knee; extension and medial rotation at hip
sartorius origin: anterior superior spine of ilium
sartorius insertion: medial surface of tibia near tibial tuberosity
sartorius action: flexion at knee; flexion and lateral rotation at hip
rectus femoris origin: anterior inferior iliac spine and superior acetabular rim of ilium
rectus femoris insertion: tibial tuberosity by way of patellar ligament
rectus femoris action: extension at knee, flexion at hip
vastus intermedius origin: anterior and lateral surface of femur along linea aspera
vastus intermedius insertion: tibial tuberosity by way of patellar ligament
vastus intermedius action: extension at knee
vastus lateralis origin: anterior and inferior to greater trochanter of femur and long linea aspera
vastus lateralis insertion: tibial tuberosity by way of patellar ligament
vastus lateralis action: extension at knee
vastus medialis origin: entire length of linea aspera of femur
vastus medialis insertion: tibial tuberosity by way of patellar ligament
