What was the Monroe Doctrine? it was a new foreign policy doctrine established in 1823 that expanded upon isolationsim
Why was the U.S. an isolationist country in the early 1700's? It was still struggling to develop.
Preemption is... strategy where U.S. strikes first, used in Iraq war.
Containment is.. military strategy that prevents the opposition from growing bigger, used in Cold War It drew us into Korean War and Vietnam War.
Humanitarianism when a country provides food, medical assistance to countries in times of need, used when U.S. provided for Haiti and Somalia in their times of need
Isolationism is avoiding involvement in worldly affairs, used in WWI
Internationalism is involvement in worldly affairs, used in WW2
