What are the main purposes for House leadership? to organize and unify party members, schedule House duties, ensuring lawmakers are present for key floor votes, information, keeping House and Prez in contact, and influencing lawmakers to support policies of political party
How is the Speaker of the House chosen? They are chosen by a caucus of majority party
What is the role and purpose of majority leaders? They are the speaker's assistant. The help plan party's legislative program, get important bills through, and ensure chairpersons of committees that job will get done
What is president pro-tempore? used in absence of Vice president, elected by Senate's majority party
What roles do majority and minority whip leaders serve? delegated to an elected official belonging to the majority party in the House of Representatives and the Senate. The majority leader's job is to get bill through Senate by planning work schedule and agenda w/ minority leader.
