What is casework? Helping constituents with problems
Define constituents Referred to people who live in representative's district
Who are caseworkers? Staff members of the lawmakers who assist by handling constituent's problems
What are the purposes of caseworkers? It helps lawmakers get reelected, brings attention towards problems with federal programs which get noticed by Congress members, and lastly, it provides a way for average citizen to cooe with the huge nat'l gov't
What is the purpose of the public works bill? Assists Congress in distributing money for variety of local projects, such as post offices or military bases
What is the pork-barrel legislation? It passes law to appropriate money for local projects
What is logrolling? Agreement b/w 2+ lawmakers which support eachother
