pubofemoral ligament | limits abduction, extension and external rotation |
ischiofemoral ligament | limits extension, abduction and internal rotation |
transverse ligament | increases stability |
ligamentum teres | no mechanical function |
tibial collateral (medial) ligament (knee) | limits extention, medial rotation and prevents abduction |
fibular collateral (lateral) ligament (knee) | limits extension, lateral rotation and prevents adduction |
anterior cruciate ligament | prevents adduction and anterior slide of tibia |
posterior cruciate ligament | prevents posterior slide of tibia and limits medial rotation |
patellar ligament | limits superior movement of patella |
oblique popliteal ligament | limits extension |
arcuate popliteal ligament | limits extension |
