Therapeutic Careers Provide a service to a client over time.
Diagnostic Services Create a "picture" of the health ?status of a client overtime. They help with the diagnosis of illness and disease.
Health Informatics Careers "Record the client's health information". Workers: analysis, code, and document health information.
Support Services Create a safe and healthy environment for the client and other healthcare workers.
Biotechnology Research and Development Careers Involved in the research and development of new medical treatments and technologies.
certificate degree A program of study requiring several weeks up to one year of study.
associate's degree A degree awarded by a technical or community college. Generally two years of study.
bachelor's degree A degree awarded by a college or university. Generally 4 years of study.
master's degree A degree awarded by a college or university. Degree awarded after 1-2 years of study beyond a bachelor's degree.
doctorate or doctoral degree A degree awarded by a college or university after completion of 2 or more years of study beyond a bachelor's or master's degree.
Certification A credential that is typically voluntary and created by a professional organization.
Registration Placement on an official list or registry for qualified workers.
Licensure A credential that is required by law for some professions to protect public health, safety and welfare.
Professional Requires four of more years of college with a bachelor's, Masters or doctoral degree.
Technologist or Therapist Requires three to four years of college plus work experience, usually with a bachelor's or master's degree.
Technician Requires a two year associate's degree, special health science education, or three to four years of on-the-job training.
Aide or Assistant A specific number of hours of specialized education or one or more year of training combining classroom and on the job training.
