Prescriptions medicines can be sold only with a written order from a doctor.
Over-the-counter are medicines available with a written order from the doctor.
Antibiotics are medicines that kill or stop the growth of germs.
Side effect is any reaction to a medicine other than the one intended
Tolerance is a condition in which the body becomes used to the effects of a medicine and needs greater amounts to get the same effect
Drug misuse taking medicine in a way that is not intended.
Drug abuse means using drugs in ways that are unhealthy or illegal.
Substance abuse use of illegal or harmful drugs, including any use of alcohol while under the legal drinking age.
Anabolic steroids are synthetic drugs based on a male hormone.
Inhalants are substances whose fumes are inhaled to produce hallucinations.
Marijuana is an illegal drug that comes from the hemp plant.
Narcotics are certain drugs that relieve pain.
Hallucinogens are illegal drugs that cause the user’s brain to distort to images and to see and hear things that aren't real.
Depressants are drugs that slow down the body’s functions and reactions.
Stimulants are drugs that speed up the body’s functions.
