| EU (European Union) | Economic alliance of major Western European nations that coordinate trade, immigration and labor policies, making its members one economic unit |
| globalization | actions or processes that involve the entire world and result in making something world wide in scope |
| IGO (Intergovernmental Organization) | for instance--OPEC-organization of petro exporting countries |
| IMF (International Monetary Fund) | Monitors global financial developments, provides short term loans to countries, and provides tech advice and training |
| international relations | the relationships among the world's state governments and their connections |
| MNC (Multi-National Corporation) | a corporation that has businesses in at least one other country other than its own country |
| nationalism | a strong feeling of pride in and devotion to one's country |
| NGO (private organizations) | for instance--private organizations like Red Cross |
| North-South Gap | the difference between rich and poor countries of the world |
| World Bank | A specialized agency of the United Nations that makes loans to countries for economic development, trade promotion and debt consolidation |
| WTO (World Trade Organization) | International organization formed in 95 to encourage the expansion of world trade |
