| Digital Etiquette | A basic set of rules to follow to make the Internet a better and safer place. |
| Digital Footprints | The trail or traces that people leave while using the Internet. |
| Emoticon | Typed symbols that convey emotional aspects of an online message. :( :) |
| Etiquette | Code of behavior that defines expectations for social behavior. |
| Flaming | Rude or harassing messages posted online in order to start an argument. |
| Internet Troll | An online bully. |
| Password | A secret word or phrase known only to the creator. |

| Social Network | A website or other application that allows users to communicate with each other by posting information, comments, messages, images, etc. |
