How does the U.S. Government pay a role in the domestic economy? It regulates the economy for the welfare of it's citizens
Public Services functions that benefit the public Ex. electric power and public transportation
Monopoly a company who has exclusive control of a service or good
Why does regulating public services help the economy? It makes sure prices remain fair
Redistribution divide something up in different ways or in different proportions and then dispense it among people
Redistribution of Income uses tax revenues to fund programs to help those in need of it
Government funded programs social security, Medicare, and unemployment benefits
Income-transfer programs when money is transferred from one group to another
The International Revenue Service agency of the U.S. Treasury Department that collects taxes (makes payroll deductions)
subsidy grant of money from the government to private groups or industries
