contraband
Rules for Collecting Contraband Substances/Items

Contraband (other than nuisance contraband) confiscated by corrections officers | will be labeled noting the identity or type |

Contraband discovered in inmate housing or dormitory areas | will be noted on the Daily Post Log and inmate contact log in CMIS |
If a substance has to be chemically tested | (such as suspected cocaine), it will be tested |
under the direct supervision | of the area supervisor |
Chemical test kits | will NOT be used inside of the facility |
Contraband that is possessed or passed | by a visitor will be confiscated |
and a police officer immediately | requested to charge the visitor if circumstances warrant criminal charges |
The discovering | corrections officer will |
Immediately notify | his area supervisor |
Detain the visitor | until police arrive |
Maintain possession of the contraband | and the visitor's identification |
until turned over to the responding | police officer |
Prepare and submit a COPSMORE Informational Report | and Notify the Security Lieutenant via email of the report and the CCR Number |
