Disposition of Contraband Discovered in Searches of Inmates, Visitors, or Facil

QuestionAnswer
If the hard contraband is found in the possession of a visitor
the officer Will Detain the visitor
Notify the area supervisor and request a dual certified officer
if available or a patrol officer for an arrest
Maintain custody of the contraband and turn it over to a dual certified officer
if available or the patrol officer upon his arrival
If the hard contraband is found in the possession of an inmate
Secure the inmate in a holding area separate from other inmates
Contraband negotiable items, coins and/or currency that are found in the possession of an inmate will be treated as evidence
and the Security Sergeant will be notified
If the Security Sergeant is not on duty an email will be forwarded to him providing the CCR number
