The Training Center is affiliated with the Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ),
Department of Public Services, North Campus, which provides the following Fiscal agent for Criminal Justice Trust Fund
Training aids
A library
Printing and duplicating services
Gymnasium and physical training facilities
Defensive driving track
Vehicles, as training aids
Weaponry and ammunition required for firearms training programs
The authority and responsibility of the Training Center are established as follows The Sheriff will provide for the establishment of a training unit within the Professional Standards Division
The Training Center Director will hold at minimum a bachelor's degree from an accredited university and possess no less than two years relevant experience in the criminal justice field to comply with CJSTC standards
and shall report to the Chief of the Professional Standards Division
Notification of required training and training that is available will be as follows It shall be the responsibility of the academy staff to mail, deliver, post
and otherwise notify all JSO officers of upcoming training
Distribution of course announcements shall be made electronically, posting announcements on the agency intranet and mailing announcements to satellite facilities and Region V locations
